Bridgestone to get Approval
for Boeing 787-8

Boeing has approved
Bridgestone main and nose tires designs
for its newly developed 787-8.

Tokyo (February 19, 2007) — Bridgestone Corporation obtained the final design approval for Boeing 787-8 tires from Boeing. Approval for the main tire design came on January 2, 2007 and nose tire design acceptance happened on October 18, 2006.

Bridgestone had already been awarded as a sole supplier for original equipment tires for all series of this newly developed 787 family and will start to supply Boeing with its tires firstly for 787-8 — the first model of a series of 787 family to be delivered to airlines — for factory installation based on this approval as per Boeing production plan. These tires are of course available for replacement tires for this model as well.

On the main tire, Bridgestone's new technology for radial tire is applied, that is "Revolutionarily Reinforced Radial".
