Bridgestone releases new series of television commercials
Aircraft tire technology to enhance Bridgestone brand image.
Tokyo (September 5, 2007) - Bridgestone Corporation has created a series of new television commercials designed to promote greater brand image and to enhance the reputation of Bridgestone as a manufacturer of high quality, technically advanced products.
Success in automobile racing is commonly used to support claims of superior tire technology. In this latest series of commercials, Bridgestone instead relies on the challenging and even dramatic environment of large commercial aircraft to convey the message of cutting edge tire technology. While the general public may not realize it, 2 nose tires and 20 mains, as on the new Airbus A380, supports as much as 560 tons upon takeoff. The new commercials feature the Boeing B777 aircraft landing amidst a cloud of tire smoke, followed by a freeze-framed sequence with the pilot speaking of the demands of large commercial airplanes.
