Bridgestone Officially Opens
Aircraft Tire Retreading Plant in North Carolina

Mayodan, North Carolina (Oct. 8, 2007) - Bridgestone Aircraft Tire (USA), Inc. held a grand opening in celebration of their new aircraft tire retread plant located near Greensboro in North Carolina.

The original Miami site was required by the state of Florida for freeway expansion, and following a site search, North Carolina was deemed most suitable for installation of the new facility. Besides current production units, Mayodan will also retread Bridgestone's latest advanced technology tire, the RRR*, which is original equipment on both the next-generation super-jumbo jetliner Airbus A380 and the Boeing Dreamliner B787.

The Mayodan opening follows the opening of another new Bridgestone aircraft tire retread facility in China. There are now a total of five Bridgestone retread sites throughout the world in support of the global commercial aircraft market.
